SO, HOW DOES IT WORK?

Unlike most tutoring centers where they give more work packets and then the parents would have to go home and help the student with their homework, at My Schoolhouse, we tutor according to your child's school's curriculum.  The student will come to tutoring after school from Tuesday through Friday PM 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM (we can modify the schedule, if necessary), an instructor will work with your child in a small group setting of 5-6 students in their grade level.  The student will come to tutoring with all their homework assignments and agenda.  The instructor will work off of the student's daily agenda, initializing after each completed task.  If the student has an upcoming test, we will help the child study for it.  Any special assignments would require advance notice such as essays, or projects.  The purpose to tutor the student with their own homework is to 1) get a better understanding of the student's lessons, subjects, and skills taught in class. Based on their work, we can offer additional support  2) parents won't have to stress over doing homework when they get home.  When the student is done with their homework, they will have a snack break and then practice on their areas of weakness or peer tutor with other students for a fun learning experience of healthy competition.
 
IS STAYING UNTIL 6:00 PM TOO MUCH?
Not at all, the environment is fun, inspiring,  and encouraging and they love to stay until 6:00 PM.  However, if your child has to leave early, notify the director to arrange the schedule. 
 
IS IT SAFE?
Yes, very safe.  We have a separate lobby and classroom so non-registered students or families will not have access into the classroom without authorization.  We have a fingerprint check-in and check-out station to track attendance and pickup.
 
HOW IS OUR LEARNING CENTER DIFFERENT FROM SCHOOL?  Due to the overwhelming number of students a classroom teacher has, it's very difficult for a teacher to provide individual help in class.  We fill in the gaps to help the student have a better understanding of the lesson and skills.  We teach student's detailed skills and strategies for better scores.  Our goal is to develop higher thinking skills.

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT THAN OTHER TUTORING CENTERS?

3) Offer a daily structured, routine, and disciplined environment and schedule.

Under the direction and lead instruction of an award-winning educator, Ms. Donahue.  She has high standards for quality results. We have years of experience with 100% success rate.  Ms. Donahue leads her team with strong leadership skills to perform with excellence.  Our instructors are high scholars with strong skills in all subjects and grade levels.  Our senior instructor is also an assistant Professor at Florida Atlantic University.
